Gareth Bale is a midfielder who plays for Real Madrid. Bale joined Real in 2013 and in doing so became the most expensive player in world football. The deal was worth a reported £86 million. Originally a left back, Bale moved into a more advanced role with Tottenham Hotspur and that is when he really began to flourish. After two excellent seasons for Spurs, Bale left for Real Madrid and won the Champions League and Copa Del Rey in his first season. Bale scored in both finals.
